| Breeds belonging to this group were historically used for hunting game. Scent hounds have an exceptional sense of smell; they include the Bloodhound (as depicted in the Walt Disney classic ‘The Lady and The Tramp’) and the Beagle. Sight hounds (also known as gazehounds), have extremely good vision; these include the Greyhound and the Whippet and are believed to have developed from the Middle East. All canines of this group require a fair amount of exercise and they make dependable and noble companions. | |||
